Stilo vs Bravo

Stilo vs Bravo

I postivily hate the Stilo. What an ugly MPV with 3 doors. Sorry to all you Stilo owners! You probably hate the Cinq but were all entitled to our opinions!

P.S Bravo is gorgeous, nothing will come close.

And that is your opinion. My opinion is that the Stilo is pretty ugly and isnt inspiring at all at this time. Look around at all the other manufacturars new cars coming out? Vauxhall's new astra? Vauxhall VX220 turbo? Ford Fiesta? Ford Focus? They are all producing awe inspring controversial styling that does actually work. The Focus is a few years old now but looks just as fresh against all the new cars coming out now.

No wonder Fiat is in trouble. They produced a cracking looking car with the Fiat Punto mk2 and went and messed it all up with the mk3! What the hell is going on?

They own Ferrari and Maserati, they must use all the stylists on the new Ferraris and then have boring bast*rds designing the Fiats.[}:)]

You drive around in an ugly-boxy-MPV-dated Stilo IMO and I drive around in a shoebox....flame me if you will, I just couldnt give a f*ck.

Hey, cool it youse guys.

My opinion certianly doesn't count as I have the ultimate in boxy cars.

There is a yellow Stilo 100 yards from our home. On our walks, it is regularly visited by my eldest Beagle, Charlie, who shows his appreciation in the usual way, by marking it "Charlie was here" [8D] Bertie prefers the Clio in front :)

I'm not sure if I've seen the new Stilo - but the one I've seen I'm very impressed with. Oh, and how is it pronounced, Stilo, as with the i as in "eye" or Steelo?

they could've been a bit more adventurous with the five door. the rear end is reminicent of the old Lada Riva Estate. it's a bit of a mish-mash of all the other cars, and needs a few lines and creases as in the 3 door.

It's steelo. It means "style" [8D]

Nothing wrong with the 5-door...

Some people may slag it off and say it lacks the good looks and tighter ride of the 3-door but at the end of the day it's got the same toys and is more of a family car than a fun/sporty car so was never designed to handle like it was on rails.

Given the option, i'd have a 3-door (especially after ragging the nuts off the Stoneacre Service Managers 1.8 Dynamic when I had it as a courtesy car [}:)]:D) but it's horses for courses - the 3 and 5 door will appeal to different buyers depending on the individuals needs and nothing will change that fact.

Hi Purple

Was the 1.8 much better than the 1.6 in terms of performance and drivability ?

I'm suprised you found the three door a tighter ride, I thought it was sloppy and soggy so I uprated the springs, it's tight now and sweet too, just a shame the 1.6 unit is lacklustre!

Hi TC

Compared to the 5-dr, the standard 3-dr is definitely tighter - maybe still a little sloppy and soggy, but definitely tighter.

In terms of performance and driveability, there is more low end than the 1.6 but top end didn't seem that much different to me.

Ian's Dynamic isn't totally standard spec as it has the MP3 headunit and beige leather (looks kinda weird when the steering wheel etc. is trimmed in grey leather!). It's kinda loud too as it's Sprint Blue (the wife hated it!!).

That's what I thought Purple

I think it's the same engine probably over-bored and they've probably achieved more torque rather than any top end improvements, which is for the guys who like towing I guess!

I've seen Ians car in Sprint Blue, I think it's a fantastic colour, don't like the beige interior though!

As for you Dawn, yes, the tighter the sweeter, anything on offer love?

really disappointed with the 1.6 i drove, sky roof must've weighed a lot, shudder to think what the 1.2 is like

I'm glad someone has found this thread again.

Having had a couple of Bravo's and one of the very last HGT's I was so let down by the Stilo when it came out. I test drove the sillyspeed but it was too slow for me. I didnt like the styling one bit. I likened the Abarth in Broom Yellow to something off of Judge Dread!

However, in time it has grown on me. I think the 3 door Abarth in black, with dark wheels and windows looks very mean and up for it. The 5 door though is not to my taste at all still.

I wouldn't (and havent!) buy one though, the natural succesor to the Bravo is the Alfa 147 which was intentional from Fiat as they wanted Alfa to have the sporty range and Fiat to have the run of the mill set. We have tuned a number of 147's and they go like stink, especially the JTD's!

Thanks for that Nige, I'm depressed now!

No I knew that anyway, but I couldn't go for the 147, because of the price tag, the premiums on them are far too high, it isn't that exclusive, well built or plain expensive, if that makes sense!

I love my BLACK three door Stilo and am awaiting your discovery on how to unleash a few extra BHP on the 1.6 unit without it costing the earth!
