I'd never seen a car driving around on number plates.......

If you think logic......get the tyres

tyres will be good through the winter months.... slippy roads and all... But will only last a few months. Plate will last the life of the car. Plus it makes a good talking point of the car. I have an irish plate on mine apparently DNZ ****.. was on tere when I bought it and I wont take it off.

But its your decision. :)

depends on your budget, decent Tyres are always good, and Private plates often look tacky, i should know there's one on my car :( lol. £500 seems excessive to spend on tyres though, but then i get discounted prices :D

Does the car need new tyres?

What good is a private plate when you're upside down in a ditch? Go for the tyres and get better grip! Plus the cheaper 'private' plates just make a car look like it's desperately trying to seek attention and most look tacky. The only person who cares about what a private plate means is the owner, the majority of the public really isn't interested in that jumbled bunch of letters and numbers...

Edit: Just seen that despite asking for opinions the op has already voted for private plate. So what's the point of starting a thread like this if the op has already decided what they want? Another meaningless thread...

lol at this.

Plate is the way to go.

Go for a 'F' prefix. Limited to only 20 of each 3 digit letter combination :)

Cost that bit more, but well worth it, Stilo wears one :D

I have a `F` PLATE,(F1ATM) still on a retention cert, was going to put it on the panda
but, would have to put the plate (H7 VKS) that is on it now, on retention or else my daughter would get me!

Private plates = identity crisis

Explain

Why not get H7 VKS transfered to daughters car then

I know my name, people I know also know my name

Why would I need DAV 1 D to tell the world.

I general I look to spend money to improve reliability or performance.

For me private plate are to hide the age of a car, that doesn't really work.
Or for people who have an identity issue and feel the need to advertise their name.

Just don't get them....
