Which ones better in ure opinion,
personally i think the focus RS is faster, better made and better looking but hey thats my opinion.

I came into the hot hatch market a few months back, and looked around at a few models. Having come from a Ghia X Mondeo, the Focus ST was tempting, 170 bhp out of a 2 litre Unit...

BUT I went for a Stilo - I wanted to be different - and faster is not always better, tbh. Plus I wanted certain toys - spec is worth more to me than pure 0-60 boy racer times, and the 2.4 20V Selespeed suited me just fine, and at an amazing price

My dentist has a purple focus RS - looks nice, not seen too much of the stilo's around here

oh dear ...... a lupo, now they are odd looking cars, i personally prefer the the golf now thats a better looking car

Much as I love the Fiats - the RS would pull the Stilos pants down and give it a good spanking. Focus RS is a hot hatch, Stilo Abarth merely a warm one.

And some people just want people to complain about everything... You got nothin better to do ?..when you goin back to school ?
I had a focus for nearly 3 years and it was really reliable.. but that didn't stop it from being the most boring car i've owned.. No it wasn't the RS.. but the RS was an option i looked at, but after seeing it was just a souped up version of what I already had, and not that good and upgrade at that...
Paintwork is absolutely tripe and everyday you see loads on every road..no thanks..
Whats next then ? Stilo versus Alfa 147 ? That would be interesting cuz at least both cars are stylish and both come with owners that know a good car when they see one..

And an underated one too...
I have driven/owned a lot of hot hatches and all of them claimed to be soo fast and fun... But I have never come across a car like the Abarth, that people claim to be slow or whatever and found it to be the best hot hatch I have driven especially once its lowered..
And yes i called it a "hot hatch" because when driven right thats exactly what it is and more.

One important thing i forgot to mention..

Price.. the focus RS is around 6,000-7,000 dearer than the Abarth..
You spend even half that extra money on a performance upgrade for the Abarth then bye bye to the RS and you'll have a far nicer car to boot..

Another brainbox that has trouble reading...
Compare the prices... Spend half the savings on the Abarth and you have a better car... Whats so hard to understand..
And how much is the 147 GTA ?
At least if people are gonna compare one car against another, and they want a fair competition, then get 2 cars the same price ,or at least listen to what people say.

"get 2 cars the same price"? so tell me, why are you comparing a stilo abarth to a focus RS? surely you should be comparing the stilo to something more like hmm maybe a fiesta RS? thats more in the same price range...

im not the one who put these two cars up against each other when there's a clear difference in price.. its like comparing a merc to a mondeo..if you wanna put the cars on equall ground you have to consider the difference it would make if the same total amount was spent on each..

These cars can't be compared any more as the Focus RS was a limited edition model that has long since sold out. It was a way for Ford to reintroduce the RS badge in advance of the new models which would be getting this in the future, hence the Fiesta RS thats coming soon & the long rumoured 4WD 300bhp Focus RS to rival the Jap chariots (Cosworth name no longer used as Ford sold that along with the Jag F1 team recently)

It has 212bhp and was only ever available in blue. It has a very fancy LSD that is supposed to be amazing on the track but a bit of a handful on the road as it reacts to every bump & deviation on the road. One of my mates test drove one as a consideration to the 2nd hand Mitsubishi EVO 6 he was also looking at, the EVO won hands down.

Probably a better comparison is a Focus ST 170 which I think may have been the reference point for some as its power output of 170bhp was mentioned, therefore having the same output as a Stilo Abarth & ni on identical acceleration times.
