If you know a product has been tested on animals does it stop you from buying it?

They should forget about animals and just test products on criminals who have done really bad things.

That way, there's actually a use for them rather than just hiding them away in a cell til they die.

The trouble with the British is they care more for animals than their own children, and yes I am British.

completely true
we should test on the dregs of society behind bars
(i have seen clockwork orange)
but still without animals how would we grow an ear on somethings back?

grow it on your own back? in fact you could probably make a fortune from that, a mouse is only big enough for one ear imagine how many you could grow on a human back! you could earn millions! unless they're rather large ears....

about British is they care more for animals than their own children

Now I'm confused as to what you're saying.

P.S. Are their any social workers in your family 'cos that is one part of society that I like to see experimented on. Every time they screw up some poor little kids dies under terrible circumstances and they always get off 'cos it's never one persons fault or they were overworked, inexperienced etc, etc you get the picture.

I dispute (disagree) your statement that the 'British care more for pets than their children'

Well they certainly seem to like feeding their kids to their dogs!!
Just read about another one yesterday (USA this time) where the mother fell asleep on the sofa and apparently heard nothing when the baby in the same room got its toes on one foot eaten off by a dog the mother was looking after for a few hours. Her excuse - she was very tired.

Thats in the USA:confused:

I see what you are saying (and I can assure you as a parent it f*cking angers me aswell) & it seems many people lack basic common sense, but the vast vast vast majority of parents are very good & you cant condem the majority for the sake of the few idiotic individuals. Animal abuse is forever on the increase in the UK aswell, truth is we live in a selfish uncaring world.(which in itself is a rash statement as the Italians & Spanish are very family orientainted unlike alot of us)

It's not just the US is it? We see plenty in the papers over here. What I don't understand is why the law allows the general public to keep dogs as domestic pets that have been specifically bred by man to fight. It really is about time that the dangerous dogs act was updated. Maybe we could all have a nice Thai curry made from any additions to the banned list:yum:.

Ever tried horse? It's considered abit of a delicacy in certain parts of europe. Maybe that should be the next talking point "Which animals are OK to be consumed as food in the UK"? Given the wide spectrum of cultures now present in the UK this would be an interesting debate.

I'd say most herbivores should be on the list of potential food, but eating carnivores is a bit un-natural, aside from any cross-contamination issues it's not energy efficient.

Trying to chomp on a daft little animal makes no sence - far too much prep for little food. Quails for example. What's the point?

Quite happy with my beef, chicken and lamb and the thousands of recepies you can achieve with just them three.

No of course not, I recolect one last xmas at some pub but I dont even want to think about it as I have kids & cant imagine how horrific this was for hte child.

I think they should do as some states in the USA, put dangerous dogs to sleep. Its humane & the only real solution to a ever growing problem. Not nice putting a young healthy dog down but what else can you do?
