Right a couple of people said the new format isnt as easy or as clear to use as we have no active topics. We do have the new posts facility but some people dont like it. just out of interest with lacking of active topics how does it affect your usage on the forum?

it doesnt really affect me, cause im nosey and try to answer all posts if I can

when i first used the new forum, i had my worries and thought i wouldnt be using it as much, if at all, but after a bit off getting used too, its rather quite good

I find it harder to use than the active topics because, even though it's now got which section its from its not as easy to flick through. When you only want to look at LL/cinq section you cant just got to those you have to trawl through pages and pages of threads irrelevant to you.

I still want the active topics back

Also why has it now changed to 'todays posts' as apposed to 'new posts' for people that dont use this everyday this could cause a problem?

And about active topics, I really can't do much more i dont think its just done completely differently to before, and I have no idea how to edit anything even if i did want to change it....

I do admit though, yup active was a lot easier...

to be honest i dont find it that much of a problem, i did at first but i think it does encourage people to post in the quieter forums, i know i do more posts, coz people tend to either post in the general fiat, LL and thier own model of car, but you dont realise you could potentially help people that have posted in the other forums

i am getting used to it, but i get lost if i log on for 5 minuets then have to go an come back i lose my new threads, one good thing though takes sammi ages to see where i've been bad (wot we now been told off for so forum will be boring)

No reason why anything should get boring.. just keep it to seperate threads.

Basically, trying to stop legitimate topics getting hijacked, thats all.. Nothing more nothing less. By all mean start a topic that's completely irrelavant (sp) but dont trash a current one.

I can see where Bens coming from when theres a stupid number of posts on a thread in 5 mins or whatever though.

not always true there are a few threads like phone dead ect that had loads of posts on within minutes and never went off topic plus sometimes the odd post if off topic but then goes back to topic - suppose depending on what your talking about.

personnaly i dont like the new posts thing. i think its crap.

i aint been on here since yesterday and just come on now to 8 pages of new posts. most of which i dont car about but have to go past anyway. with the old active topics, granted they werre all still there, but they wer in their sections so i could quickly skip o what i wanted.

Been looking at other forum software, and it seems Snitz is the only one that offered a breakdown... so i guess we just had it really good before

clayton - if you read the right hand column its tells you what section they are in

Ben dont worry about it - people will just have to get used to it - i dont see the big problem personally

Ben, at least everyone now knows which section things are from, which is a help. I'm sure everyone will get used to it in time we just had it too gud before
