Right People,

I know the feedback i am going to get will be a bit biased. I know that but try and give me an honest opinion.

I Deliberating on which car to upgrade to this summer...

The Fiesta boasts 90bhp and 151ft/lbs of torque but weighs in at roughly 1,100kg and averages 62.8 combined

Whereas, the GPS 1.9 boast 130bhp and 207ft/lbs of torque but weighs in at roughly 1,200kg and 48.7 combined...

I commute to work everyday and want something that is both economical but fun to drive and reliable. I know, i don't want much do i?! :)

The figures i give are only rough, but what do you people recon? I'm stuck in 2 minds. Whatever you chose could you give reasons as to why you've chosen it.

Thanks in advance

n1ck

Get the grande! £200 on a remap will see 180bhp and a silly amount of torque plus improved mpg if you drive sensibly. It is guaranteed to put a smile on ya face!
Plus the grande looks a lot better than the fiesta ever will!

I would go for the punto. Have you thought about something else like a Fiat Panda 1.3 multijet remapped to around 100BHP
or
how about a nice Toyota Yaris 1.4 D4D CDX/T Spirit? 0-60 in 12.5s, 64mpg, 125lb-ft torque, 74bhp, got everything you need, alloys, cd player, metallic paint, air con. Cant get more reliable than a toyota!

Just for the record my commute to work is about a 45 mile round trip each day and 80% of that is motorway down the M60 & M56.

I do like both cars, but i'm struggling to pick one

Drive both, make ur own mind up (y)

I did... havnt stopped :D since in 27,000 miles...

infact i'm pretty open to any suggestions other than the two i mentioned in the title for my next car.

Like i say i travel roughly 50 miles a day with 80% of travelling on the motorway.

I have a budget of about £11,000 max.

:D

for £11,000 theres quite a lot of machinery out there in your budget (y)

(probably not local to you, but to give you a general idea :))

within your budget there are so many cars to choose, so my advice would be to go out and test as many as you can and then decide from that (y)

i would go with, the bravo or the gp though

Well i got over 60mpg in my gp mjet remapped on motorways.

Fiesta's are small inside and feel horrid! Take a test drive in both and see what you think :) Where abouts in the country do you live n1ck?

If you want an unbiased opinoon this was probably the wrong place to come HOWEVER looking at it pratcially styling, i think the grande wins hands down, I would also say it will be worth more when you sell it, if you want somehing fun to drive the grande punto is a more sporty drive in my own opinion however the fiesta has the fuel economy but a remap will improve that in the gp and i think it is a worthy sacrific and the 1.3 multijet might be one to look it
