Yes and yes, but not in the back as there's no ashtray and it's a lot harder to
flick the dog end out. Having a rear seat passenger is very useful for that occasional butt that comes back in. Ideally they will be yawning which means there won't even any ash in the back.
More dangerous than using a phone? Yup. What about taking a CD out of the glove box, then out of its case and putting it in the player? Not forgetting taking the other one out of the head unit, putting it back in its case, then back in the glove box.

NOPE! No ashtray in the car for 1! and the rear windows dont open plus the last thing i want in my car is a fag burn in the seats!!!!
i smoke but never in my car or house or a confined or enclosed place. no one else can smoke in my car either. included in the forbidden list is eating, drinking, biting your nails, picking your nose, touching the glass, touching the stereo, commenting on my driving style or speed, suggesting a different route and definately no children under 8 unless their arms and legs are bound and they are gagged. breaking the rules results in walking, although a first offence can sometimes be dealt with by a simple slap and warning, especially if you're very sorry. no one has made it to a second offence yet, i guess the first time is a lesson well learnt.

If you read back through the thread you will see mentions of mobile phones,driving with hands of wheel etc

i think smoking is a horrible habit! and why would you pay for something to kill you?
i agree with josh i think smoking whilst driving is as bad as talking and texting on the phone! smoking whilst driving can cause problems for other drivers too, for instance what happens if a smoker was to throw a but out of the window it could quite easily go in the window of an on coming car. like driving whilst on the phone if you must do it you should have a handsfree kit!
I have also seen on Tv when a lit but was thrown out of a window in a car and the car behind sucked it into the air intake and subsiquently set the air filter on fire, this was on a BMW so no great loss but it could happen to anybody!

Not a chance... I did allow it when I was running a 20 year old Nissan after my test (with the window open ofc), but Rosie stank for months after I bought her and the fag burns are not her most attractive feature... I can't believe that using mobiles is banned but smoking in the car isn't. Surely your attention isn't on the road if you're busy lighting a fag?
Definitely wouldnt allow it... just test drove a panda multijet which was a brill car but smelled like an old ashtray, salesman seemed a bit put out when I mentioned it! It was less than 2 years old but the plastics and headlining were ditched because of the nicotine... still if people dont give a tinkers what they are doing to their heart and lungs why should they bother about the inside of their car? The pong gave my Mrs a migraine on the way home!:yuck:
Oh that reminds me, I HATE smokers who think it's OK to flick ash and fagends out the window at other peoples cars and on the roads, you have an ashtray, USE IT. Filthy scummy litterbugs and worse than that, messing up my nice clean car

EDIT - actually I wouldn't have got in the car in the first place, I'd be too scared so I'd ring the breakdown and get back in the car and lock it.

NO i dont smoke, NO ONE smokes in my car, its a filthy desgusting habbit, if people moan about my rules i will show them where the door handle is on my car and show them how much fun walking can be. :yuck: smoking, i have loads of smoking mates, when ive got in their cars they are always sparking up, i absolutley stink when i get out.
