I haven't got a Fiat, but i'd defo be there! I tried to get a few people together to plan something similar a while back, but when you sit down and work it out, there's a hell of alot to be planned, and thats what put me off.

For example, lands end to scotland, and back down to lands end via wales would be a great route, but your looking at maybe 2 days of solid driving, so you'd have to inform people as to where to stay overnight, and how you'd prove the winner never cheated - the macdonalds idea was particulary clever, as as long as there isn't any prize money or entry fee, i can't see people feeling the need to cheat.

Watch the dvd 'Gumball 3000' for inspiration.

Re: gumball* rally uk

I'm setting up a rally...any type of car can enter. All you need is a CB radio and a passenger.

Re: gumball* rally uk

On the evening of Friday 13th August, we pulled into the Campanile hotel in Dijon and right behind us came a Rover 400 (original style) with a lot of stickers, plus the names, national flags and blood groups of the driver and navigator. I did wonder at the time if it was on this type of rally but unfortunately didn't have time to speak to the occupants.

Does this sound like the type of car that would be used on this kind of event?

dont u reckon it will be cool for a fiat only one though? yeah theres other versions, but you could say to formula 3 another ones why re invent the wheel, we have got f1 lol. (could be a bad example lol)

i think its a wicked idea!! however, i dont have much holiday left this year, so i probably wouldnt be able to do it unless it was next year.
as an idea, what about all meeting at the bottom of the a1, and just cruising up to the very top, you have to buy a fast food, and your co driver has to drive back down. first to finish gets some sort of prize. (perhaps we could get abarth to throw in a sponsorship prize car for first and fiat to throw one in for second )
