This poll is in addition to a petition to have a small Photographic subsection added to the Leisure Lounge.

There are always photographic based questions popping up, whether they be someone asking about what camera to buy or someone wanting to get into photography but not knowing where to start.

We also have a regular thread running with people posting their own photography which they would like people to see. Its a regular and busy thread with people posting daily.

There are a number of amature and pro photographers about on the forum who always reply with excellent knowledge to any photographic posts and there are constantly people getting involved in photography every day and this is very apparent on the forum with people buying high end or even basic cameras to get involved in taking photos at events and of there own cars.

Please reply to this poll regardless of whether you want this section or not but if you decide against, please post your reason bellow!

It could only be a good thing for the forum. It would help develop (excuse the pun) the community.

As a sub-section to the LL it wouldn't. Anyone applying an ounce of common sense to the thought process would see that this is nonsense.

As steve said, it would make little or no difference atall to making the forum cluttered. Its just a little link that you can choose to ignore if you wish.

Totally its a subject that's of use to people, just like computing, and unlike "what did you have for dinner" or "what did your little toe say to your big toe!"

yeah thats my point, negs shouldnt have a vote, if they dont want it, they dont have to look at it., ., lol

voted yes, it would be a good thing.

can expand to image processing, photoshop and the like too.

could set weekly challenges to take different types of photos, and then report back and people can comment on them and suggest improvements etc.

some of you might say "go to a photography forum then" - ive been, and most people on there have massively priced high end cameras and will simply ignore shots from someone with a lesser camera, or if someone asks a question that might be obivous to them - they will disregard it. this place is different, no question is too stupid and everyone is willing to help and educate.

it wouldn't. it would be less cluttered, because the photopgraphy threads would be moved into one 'folder'.

why not just post photography stuff in computing since 99% is digital now :chin:

Because it would get moved to the Leisure Lounge for being nothing to do with computing

I voted no my reason is in the other thread.

For anyone who hasnt read the other thread - Sammi's reason is because it is not a fiat related subject.

I still stand by my point that it is just the moderators who think this is a bad idea. The users want the site and community to grow and this is an avenue through which it can. Why are you making it out to be such a horrendous idea?

why does me being a mod colour my opinion?i feel i stated my point?
was it unreasonable? perhaps you are a conspiricy theorist?
steven has said its a good idea but he cant speak as we are performing the autopsy

Im not saying it alters your opinion.. jus that it seems the general opinion of the mods is opposite to what everyone else wants on this subject and if the mods dont want, we dont get! ... surely thats not good...

I have to say I am surprised at the amount of disagreement there is here. How can a sub section in the same vein as gaming/computing be intrusive or in any way a bad thing?

I'm all for it. Hell if you're really sceptical why don't we have one for a trial week and then see where it goes from there. It's photography, not terrorism.

2 of the yes votes are mods,some members seem to use the mod card as a whipping stick.
my reason was for it to be used ,as you saw the sat nav forum was requested and then created yet is underused

i thought we dismissed the sat nav argument in the other topic

The sat nav section is underused because theres not really alot you can talk about...
