Im not saying it alters your opinion.. jus that it seems the general opinion of the mods is opposite to what everyone else wants on this subject and if the mods dont want, we dont get! ... surely thats not good...
I'm going to rock the boat here and agree with bushboy. We need to listen to what members want to get out of the site and act accordingly. So far in this arguement the main objections have come from a moderator, a super moderator and sub-admin. It's really not good enough. If the request was entirely unreasonable and would have a detrimental effect on the running of the forum then of course the moderating team should step in and say no, but a photography sub-section is really no big deal and I can't even begin to understand why some people are so opposed to the idea. It's a great idea and a great subject that would enhance the site. We're not talking about a section of the site that non-Fiat owning photographers will sign up to use, we're talking about a section that Fiat-owning users on a Fiat site that also have an interest in photography would use.
i'll stand by my comments then.as ive said in more than one thread here.
if the demand is there,fine but chris was asking for the section to be set up this morning on a 'trial' basis after only 5 'votes'
so going by we need to listen to our members that exactly what i was doing.

Of course mods are entitled to an opinion. So are site members. Let this be and let the vote run it's course without turning the thread into a nonsense. bushboy obviously feels strongly that this would be a good thing and he's entitled to ask the opinion of others without his thread being trashed. I'll tidy it up in a while.
I never once said that the mods wernt allowed to express there opinion. I simply said that something is wrong when the only people voting againced something are the moderators.
This place is only here because the users make it what it is and if your not going to pay attention to what the users want then you might as well shut up shop and go home because your wasting your time.

Maybe what dave means by cluttered is with sub-sections ans stickies in LL it half a page before you get to recent posts. New posts is 5-6 pages long normally for me and that is only after a few hours. Most of that is **** not fiat related and that what we mostly here for

But thats a different matter entirely. The leisure Lounge is very very fast moving and yes it can be a pain and yes alot of it is crap.. but what can you do?

we used to get loads of computer problem, satnav and games posts, every day, that why they got a sub section, i no see loads of Photographic posts, that we could fill the new section with, just now and again some one wants a new camera and they ask what we recomend, i dont think we have enough members that would know the answers to questions people will ask

See dont know if its that underused, you could say that about the:
Strada
Idea
Vans
Sections which are proper sections with there own subsections, i'd say that when people are looking for say sat nav info if its in one place then they'll find the answer, and talk about it if they want too.
Like the computing section i go and see if there are any posts i can help with from time to time, but wouldnt browse the whole of the leisure section to answer them instead, same for sat nav etc. And the same i guess people feel about photography, if 2 days after a post was started in the 'photo section' about what camera offered a good buy i'd answer it. But by that time i wouldnt see it as it would be 4/5 pages into the leisure lounge.
i say let 'em crash... i mean have their photography sub section
if we did have a Photographic section, then i would expect the people who asked for it to book models and arrange shoots

its not the content of the sat nav section.its relative as its a recent section people requested but now is very quiet
Its not something that requires 10's of posts a day to be usefull. Look at the number of views beside each post, some posts with no replys or just 1, have had nearly 100 views. Because they're there for information.
yes thats my point, the nature of the satnav section is that if someone has a problem with theres then they go in there and get advice, so when they dont need advice on them they wont go in there, but with the photography section we would be there out of interest in what others have posted and in posling our own work.,
personally i think the satnav section wasnt very neccesary as it has always been pretty quiet but i think there would be a lot more interest in the photography section.,
although on the other hand, the satnav section doesnt take up any space and even though it is quiet i found it handy when i was setting up my satnav on my XDA so it is still useful even if quiet.,
hmm maybe i should have used a falsestop not a commer, yeah the what to buy gets answered. B ut what about when people want to know about diffrent filters lenes and stuff

oh i see what you mean now., im a bit of a photography fan so i have a bit of knowledge there and i know there is al least another 3ish at least SLR owners that post in the "best photo" thread.,?
