Not sure where to start so the beginning is probally a good place.

I am not normally a fan of Top Gear in fact I can say I have never seen it before last week (I now love it, its so funny). Any way it was a repeat on UK Gold and they kept going on about the Fiat Panda. I didn't know much about it so did a bit of research on line and seen nothing but good things.

I was passing a Fiat dealership yesterday and thought I would go in and have a look out of intrest. As a result of this I went back today with my wifes KA to get a trade price with the intention to do a trade. At first I was unsure of 1.1 due to the possible lack of power. However that all changed when I had my test drve, I could not get over what a great car it is to drive and the lack of power was quite unoticeable even though I normally drive a 1.9SDI. So one hour after going to the dealer I signed on the dotted line and I now get my new, well my wife gets her new panda on Tuesday. Also to to make this even better its a new 07 plate in black with delivery mileage and it was only £5230, I am pretty sure this is around £1800.00 of RRP.

All in all I am pretty shocked at this but in a good way - I cant wait to get it and have a play if I am allowed :)

Welcome to the forum. Fiat have always made the best small cars around. Unfortunately the motoring press in the UK have largely been anti-Fiat and this has been a well kept secret. Congratulations on the Panda, I guarantee that you'll find yourselves leaving the TDi at home at the weekends and you'll take the Panda instead. Wait and see. :)

Thanks, I will leave some more thoughts after we have collected it. I dont suppose any one has any pictures that they would like to share, I have looked in the Gallery but couldn't find any. I am not sure if I am doing it wrong but I could find everything but the Panda.

Thanks

great choice, ive had my panda now for 2 weeks and cannot believe ive done 1000 miles already,i don't normally do more more than 100 miles a week but i just cannot stop driving this great little car.i am 6ft 3 and 15 stone and i find it is the most comfortable car i have driven and i have always had big cars previously.before buying the panda i read some reviews that the drivers footwell was narrow but i find it perfectly ok,also the interior space is excellent its nice to have a car with excellent headroom and a high seating position, the gearbox is superb.these small cars are the way to go with the price of fuel etc going up all the time.ps what colour panda have you bought.cheap happy motoring at its best. (y)

sorry just noticed you put colour as black.great choice. :)

Hi Trent, I went for the Darkwave Black. I have only seen it in pictures so I hope its ok.............

hi agentsmiff, when i bought mine i had a choice of tiziano red or black and i couldn't make my mind up,i eventually went for red at the toss of a coin but i would of been just as happy with either colour, the panda does look excellent in darkwave black.the only thing i have bought for the panda is a locking fuel cap which does not come with the standard car, cost 13.20 +vat from local fiat dealer ,everybody seems to buy silver cars nowadays so its good to see people buying a bit different. trent. :)

I know what you mean about silver cars. I have a company car and the past three have been silver and I find them a bit boring now.

I will look into the locking fuel cap when I pick up the car. Is it something you fit yourself ?. I was also thinking of getting a snazzy gear knob :)

Do you know if they come with car mats, thats one thing that bugs me you spend all that money and you then have to buy the mats :(

yes locking fuel cap just swap over, unless you have negotiated for floor mats you more than likely will not get them with the car, unless the dealer is generous.i bought a set of four rubber mats (universal fit) excellent quality and fit from my local wilkinson store for 7.99,i think fiat charge approx 27 for a set of 4..

The genuine mats are actually very nice quality carpet mats and are equivalent in quality to what many manufacturers will charge £50+ for. You should be able to get them for less than £25 if you ask for a discount.

Why spend all that money on a nice new car and then put crappy ill fitting rubber mats in it. Do agree they should be standard but as Trent says they should be a deal sweetener, along with the fuel cap, if you remember to ask.

I didn't realise they where £25.00. When I got my Fabia they where around the £50.00 mark.

The dealership should be calling me this morning so I can choose my reg, I will ask then.

Thanks
