Hi all,

The Mrs just brought a Panda Eleganza with all the toys bar front fogs. How difficult wold it be to fit these?? Do you think all the wiring is already there?? :)

Thanks
Carlo

the connectors for the foggies, should be on the loom, just not being used, i would imagine it's simply a case a ordering the fogs, with their plastic surrounds, and the dash button, and fitting.

certainly from the boot light experiences, i think even the most basic panda has the full loom, with required connectors, and it's just a case of getting teh relevant bits to add on.

The plastic surrounds are available off the web as are lights. I have just looked and I cant find them just now but the plastic inserts for the front are not that expensive. I think it was £25 for the pair in white or black then you have the lights on top.
When I do find them again I will let you know.
I am sure the connectors will be there somewhere but they may take some finding.
When the wifes Panda arrives next month I was thinking of thinking of fitting some. You will also need the switch for the inside but that should not be a problem it just replaces one of the blanks.
If you fit them, post the detail as I would be interested to know how you get on.
Have fun and good luck

Cool, cheers for the replies! :)

Will have to look into it! :D

If the Panda's anything like my Vectra (05), a trip to the dealer will be required.
On the Veccy, the wiring is "waiting" behind the bumper and the correct socket is behind the appropriate blank in the dash. I bought all the bits and plugged and snapped it all together. A really easy job....but alas, they wouldn't work, whatever I tried.
It was all to do with these modern car's multiplex wiring and the computer controls of everything.
A trip then to the dealer. He plugged it in and "told" the car it had fog lights fitted.
That was it - happily no charge (I'd bought all the bits from them anyway).
I don't know, but it may be the same on the Panda. You may need to visit the dealer to "enable" the lights - or maybe not!

It's not like the old days when you could fit a part or parts yourself, and yes a trip to your dealer will be required. The fitting of the fogs may be easy enough, but you will find that after fitting they wont work until you go to the dealer and get the switch activated on the computer. That is unless you know the codes yourself.

Is it really worth it?

Is it for aesthetic reasons?

I only ask because fog lights are generally one of those useless accessories that you never end up using, well hardly ever. Reckon i use mine about once a year if that. Its just never foggy enough.

Get a fair bit of fog in Norfolk and considering how poor the headlights are every little helps on country roads.

I hope that you're not one of those annoying people who dazzle others with their illegal foglights when its not foggy.

Christ no! Only when it is genuinely foggy and you can't see the verge.
