My daugters Sportka deal fell through after a 18 year old gent skidded on the garage forecourt with his dad's Merc, and has written the Ka off.

Daughter has now taken a fancy to a Grande Punto Dynamic 90bhp 3door in black, 36miles (all put on the car by daughter) pre reg £7.500.

When talking to her about the car she was quite adamant that the car did not have a Turbo that it is fitted with a Supercharger??? is she right??.

Its a turbocharged engine, basically a more powerful version of the Panda Multijets engine :worship: With a plug in unit like "Mr Hoot", you'll be well over 100bhp :slayer:

Back at dealers with daughter this morning, first she took out the Panda 100bhp again, and then took out the Punto 90bhp diesel.

VERDICT
No contest Dad, punto is quieter, less choppy on Edinburghs poorly surfaced,speed bumped roads, costs far less to insure and run, only requires a service at 18.000miles, looks every bit as good, plus its £2.500 cheaper (thats the scot in her coming out).

One thing i did find out is the 75bhp diesel is fitted with a Supercharger. yet the 90bhp has a Variable Geometric Turbo.......well I never.

List price £10,595. How mad is that? It's supposedly a new, in-demand car, and they're knocking 30% off a new one!

Not true. The 75bhp diesel is also fitted with a turbo, but one with fixed geomtry (just like the 70bhp diesel in the Panda), while the 90bhp diesel has (as you say) a turbo with variable geometry.
