My sporting is coming up for its first service so i rang to local garage up and its goin to cost £100.And what do I get for my £100, ermmmmm? a stamp in the book........oil change(its already had one) and.....ermmmmm, i thinks thats about it.I can think of much better thing to throw away money on than a rubber stamp.

Just been quoted £225 from one garage and £235 from another for the second service.

£100 sounds like a bargain. Main stealers seem to charge near £200 to even look at a car these days.

It would be good to setup a list of service costs around the country so we know where is best value. I plan to be sitting down when Thames Slough quote me when my 100HP is due its annual reaming. I'd be fine spending half a day wandering around a town in deepest rural Shropshire (for example) if I could save £100 on an oil change service.

Certainly the rates are cheaper in France...
I know of a couple of people that get there cars serviced when on holiday...

Will see if I can find out about the Fiat dealer rates where I am..

Gents you really should shop all over the place for servicing cost's, my best advice is to get a mobile mechanic to do it, one you get to watch over him to see where your money goes and two providing he uses genuine fiat parts with a valid proof of purchase plus your receipt from his company and the stamp in the book it will not invalidate your warranty, and thats all thanks to '' block exemption'' most mobile mechanic's round basingstoke area are charging around £35.00+vat an hour as opposed to main dealers £70+vat.

Hope this helps
And i believe 'KWIK-FIT' are very shortly starting to service car's and again as long as they use 'Main dealer' parts there is no issue, but you must have proof that original parts were used. (personally i would supply these myself then theres no confusion)

Hi guys,
I've just had to fork out 224 Euros for a 'C' service in Malta. Lol...I almost passed out when I got the bill. They insisted on changing the timing belt too which sounds absurd for a vehicle which has ony covered 15,000 miles and almost three years. My original belt was left in the car when I got it back and it's still very usable with all printed lettering and arrows (showing direction of rotation) still legible.
I'm praying for the day that Haynes published a decent workshop manual so I'll start doing all my maintenance once again. I've always serviced all my previous cars myself.
It's different with the panda, I know nothing about settings and necessary adjustments. Oil & filter changes is all I can do now and possibly plug changes if I can find out what the gaps should be.
Otherwise, the panda is great fun and the nippiest vehicle I've had in a long time.
We should pool information whenever this becomes known by any of us, eventually, we'll know all there is to know about our Pandas.

...and these are the sort muppets who change the oil by sucking it out of the dipstick hole leaving all the gunk in the sump?

Just paid £290 for my third year service last week. In retrospect, I probably should have shopped around.
