Just an update on Pandas and towing, I've been pulling around a 4 metre (14 foot) power boat the last few days, weighs 500 kilos, is 5 metres long on the trailer. Absolutely no probs on the 1200cc Panda.

Next stop, a 800Kg caravan...

Who needs a bigger car!!

Try a 22 foot 1750 kg boat & trailor, or a 400mile trip towing a barchetta 1060kg :p
Now Now lets keep it legal! No more than 800kg, or 900 with a multijet.
Its nice to hear that people are towing larger weights happily. I've only towed 260kg TTent with my multijet, but over several hundred miles, it managed 60mpg (genuine, not trip recorder) and never felt underpowered. On that basis I am seriously considering a poptop 750kg caravan, maybe next year.

handbags ladies......

gotta love that last piccy of the barchetta and the panda, was that before the bags of cement went into the boot of the panda:p
driving it would have been interesting. you'd have to look out the sunroof:eek:

It only did that whilst winding the wheels forward & back on the dolly to lift & raise it. Once the dolly's wheels were under the Barchetta they took the full weight just leaving the panda to tow it as there was no downforce or upforce on the towbar at all. I got the bloke selling it & his son to sit in the panda whilst I loaded the barchetta. BTW the Gross train weight for the Panda(classic) is 2100kg  I didn't take the boat on the road I just needed to move it to clean the underside :)

I was on the verge of buying a Freedom pop-top a couple of weeks ago, but was forced to shell out for a new motorcycle instead. :(

I'd really like a Little Guy 'van tho, so cute!
