When either switching on the radio (sadly only the cheepo radio cassette in my "Active") it always comes on with the volume level really low.
Switch off the engine and restart and the radio's back to "whisper quiet mode"
Can it be set to either "remember" the volume level when it was switched off, or can the default switch-on volume level be altered?

It's a 'feature' mentioned in the manual. It always starts at volume level 20, presumably so you don't get any surprises when you start the car.

Funny innit, my mrs likes this feature too, but I find it really annoying. My punto has steering wheel controls, and on the Panda its such a stretch to reach the volume control knob. I would'nt mind, but you have to turn the darn thing about 3 complete revolutions to get to an audible level, by which time, I've misjudged a bend. Maybe it really is time that I invested in that hearing aid.

Believe me, it's a godsend at 05.30 in the morning, a little irritating during the day.
