Hi!

Need an advise... I am currently driving a Volvo 940 with auto gearbox. Yes I know... it´s a dinasaur from an ancient time but it works pretty well. I am know considering, replacing it with a smaller car like the Fiat Panda. I like the Panda, its design and how it felt when I took a testdrive. (I tested a manual Panda.)
Has anyone tested the Panda with manual and the dualogic auto gearbox? Which one did you choose?
Is it stupid to buy a small car with an auto? (I know it´s not a conventional auto with converter).
Most important: If you choose a Panda with dualogic... Is it fun to drive?

Well I'm now on my third Panda. The first was a manual the last two Dualogic.
The Dualogic is a gem of gearbox it changes up and down nicely and unlike a conventional automatic doesn't shift into top at the earliest opportunity. You have a fully automatic mode but the added advantage of a quick push on the lever and you can go up or down a gear whenever you like. There are also a full manual mode and an economy mode as well.
Try the Dualogic yourself and you will be surprised how good it is.

As it is Your second Panda with dualogic You are driving, I "guess" You are pleased with it. Have You had any problems with the gearbox? Failures?

I did have the "gearbox failure" light come on which certainly got my attention! The car was still moving and the gearbox was changing up and down normally. What I found was that if you operated the screenwashers the "gearbox failure" light went out. The problem was a bad earth connection!

I have tried Opel Corsa Easytronic and Toyota Aygo MMT and was very fond of how smooth these gearboxes work (same principle as Dualogic).
Have You tested any of these cars and if so, how would You rate the Dualogic gearbox in comparison with the others (better, worse, the same)?
