Has anyone found a cheaper source for reasonble roof bars yet? I prefer the real 'Fiat' ones that clip on the roof rails on the 4x4, but traipsing round H*lf*rds and Tow-sure and other places I can't find anywhere that has either the own brands or Thule Aero type bars in stock. I think the Fiat ones are alloy, rather than the steel plastic coated bars that are seen everywhere else, and they seem to be better looking than the alternatives. (I bet having said that, they're made by Thule or somebody. )
I had the tow bar fitted the other day, it's a Witter, the guys who fitted it removed a very large 'strengthening bar' from under the car to fit the towbar. The towbar itself is a pretty strong looking bit of metalwork, so I'm hoping the car hasn't been compromised in anyway.
Otherwise nothing to report on the 4x4 - nothing has fallen off, there are no rattles, the onboard computer which seems to control everything works flawlessly, and the aircon/heater continues to either freeze or microwave my left foot. My boot lock works, the radio works, and the car came with a boot light and adjustable seat belt height.
What can I find to complain about? There must be something!
Oh. No 'Climbing Badge'. I'll go order one.
