guys, had a prob with car recently going downhill went through a puddle and mid section of exhaust under the floor sounded as though it was knocking on underside of car, got out and checked, everything ok.
anyone had similar probs

Search this forum, it has been mentioned before. Search for "machine gun noise" or something like that.

Apparently water can come between the exhaust and the chassis. The heat will cause the water to boil instantly, causing bubbles between the two.

Don't I know about this! The garage also can't get rid of it either - and says nobody else reports it. Yeah - right...
