So, my first question - I've seen a YouTube video showing that the driver's seat had height adjustment on the seat, but I can't see any handle - was it deleted soon after? (My car is Dynamic spec).

The 13 inch (!) tyres appear to be an odd size and hard to get hold of - the tyre shop recommended fitting a slightly narrower size - anyone else had this issue?

And for a car that has just passed its MOT, I'm surprised at the amount of clonks from the rear suspension - which common culprits would you suggest looking at first?

Thank you for any replies.

Drivers seat adjustment is not present on all models; the later 169 dynamics ('09 on) definitely don't have it.

The Eleganza probably does.

Standard tyres for the Dynamic are 155/80 R 13; these are readily available.

Most aftermarket rear shocks have mounting eyes 1mm larger diameter than the bolt. No idea why, but this leads to some clonking even when the bolts are very tight. Can't remember what brand mine are, but now discontinued anyway, but the eyes were nominally the right size, but had a lot of clearance, so do get a little knocking, usually when cold.

Many thanks for the replies, I might just ignore the knocking for the time being then if they all do that...?

A good idea to haev a look underneath, just to make sure nothing is about to fall off.

Just had another thought. Check the exhaust mounts. The oval ones have a nylon strap around them, to prevent them completely letting go when the rubber fails. If the rubber has perished, the exhaust can move around more than it should. A cheap fix.

OEM shocks are Monroe.
I fitted Bilstein's which are excellent but suffer the same loose eye you refer to, so of they came after 500 miles or so.
New Monroe shocks fitted and the clonking went. They are pretty good and the ride is now cushy.

Anyone want the nearly new Bilstein's? PM me.

I solved the loose shock eye by wrapping the bolt with a strip of thin aluminium (coke can metal will do). Keep trimming until it does the job.

The rear door gas struts are another source of rear end rattles when they lose gas pressure.
