My clutch had a delayed action. I replaced the hydraulics (though in LHD models it's a cable release). No change. The pedal action felt normal but the car would stall easily and gear shifts had more slip than normal.

New clutch was fitted. The old friction plate was part worn, but the pressure plate the wear ridges all the way around. The new clutch works fine so I presume these ridges caused the release delay.
