Hello everyone. This morning two warnings lights turned on. But i have no clue what they mean and i cant find anything in the owners manual. They disappeared after i turned off/on the engine a few times. Hope u can help me clarify what it could mean! I have attached a photo (borrowed from the internet). Thank you!

Hi :)

My suspicions :

The triangle is Stop:Start - arrow wrapped around it

Other is 'brakes' ... with the car image within

I THINK that is 'stability control'

Where the car can use the ABS braking to control the handling

A low battery voltage at starting today could have triggered them..

Has the car been inactive lately ?

Thank you for the reply! I haven't been driving as much as usual and mostly smaller trips. Now that u mention it. Perhaps i should go for a long trip tommorow. Could that make a difference?. I changed the battery last year.

Low voltage.. as the starter motor grabs most of the battery energy.. can see sensors starved of power
And they then flag errors :)

Turn off accessories as you start the engine..

Turn off lights and interior fan ;)

If the errors remain.. let us know

Yes - extra time running will help

I hazard a guess if a hill start error it would be connected to the brake switch but I could be miles off.

Not sure how you would confirm ?

Before it was metioned. I actually thought it was foot on pedal of some sort. Hehe

Read the code is the obvious way to go. However a cheap generic probably will not talk to the ABS module

Stability and hill have the brakes in common. I can see the same two light on in the 500 section which was fixed by changing the brake switch. But don't like throwing parts at the problem. Do the brake lights come on reliably. Are both sides working.

And.... Is the level of the brake reservoir correct?

This morning i tried shutting everything off before i turned on the car. No warning lights stayed lit. I went for a long trip after and then tried turning it on with lights and fan speed on full and still no warning lights stayed lit. So far, so good :) I also scanned with my cheap OBD-II, it couldn't find anything. Brake reservoir is at max. I plan to drive down tomorrow and get the battery tested. Thanks for all the replies!

Check the brake lights and reverse light switches are all working as they should. Also check the rear light clusters internally for corrosion and earthing. Earth faults and badly contacted bulbs can cause errors.

Fit a voltmeter so you can watch the battery voltage when the starter is cranking. If it goes too low the electronic systems get confused. You dont need anything fancy just check it's reading against a reasonably accurate multimeter.
