same engine in the mk2 as far as I know

As with the Fiat 500 it's a dressed up Panda. The changes Ford required (like better rear axle) were incorporated into the Panda and 500 made at the same factory.

am sad. I listen to engines while out and about.

last week a heard a Corsa B with rod knock which is fairly rare these days

is fairly common to hear belt slip, bearing rumble, tappets, misfire

always fancied a Mazda they sound smooth


its rare to see a KA mk2 and when you do its normally driven by OAPs the few i heard appear to be quieter. Although i dont see many of the new Panda either.

i suspect its nothing more than the panda has flatter panels that resonate more or acts like a drum

KA= Panda with less corrosion resistance (apart from rear spring pans). Early KA's chassis rails rot from the inside out seen by corrosion around the joins at the pillars, as soon as it rots through its to late to repair without some serious re construction. I never thought a panda sounded noisier from the outside, maybe internally at speed could be because of the larger cab area.

Early mark one kas were an all ford job nothing at all to do with fiat or the panda same as the largest 3rd gen ford Ka again that's an all ford design
