Whilst happily watching Bake Off, was shocked to see a McDonalds advertisement totally disrespecting a Puss Yellow 169 Panda.

What is the world coming to?

Have checked online, and can't make a complaint about a TV ad as they are closed due to Covid.

Hard to console both of my children who have 10 plate Pandas. "At the end of the day your Peers who are ribbing you for driving a Panda, are walking or waiting for buses ?"

Takes me back to when I was at school, class mates laughed about my Morris Marina 1.8's red interior. I drove home from school they walked, nothing has changed :)

The lad buys his mum (who looks too young) a MakkyD to say thanks. It's a modest car but he seems quite happy with it.

I had to buy myself a motorbike. All I could afford was a CZ 175 - a bike that made BSA Bantams look cool.

I've got a yellow 169 and I'm putting a new sticker on it tomorrow.

I've seen that advert and I don't think it's a diss, I think it celebrates the Panda.

Our lad has a 2012 Pop and he loves it, he says the "Feds" don't look twice at him in it.
(though why they should I'm affraid to ask)

It could be worse, my car appears in an advert with two er, librarians!

Mine's the same model and colour!
The advert broke a couple of days after I placed the order.
One good thing is the Mrs isn't keen on driving it!

I’d much rather drive my 169 Panda than eat a McDonalds.

Some people don’t ‘get’ the whole Panda thing - and that’s fine by me. Their loss.

I’m very happy with my 12th consecutive Panda [emoji209], especially as the road tax remains at £30 and my insurance is just £70 annually.

...but really good in snow!

Although I did hate the combination gear lever/kick start.

I fell off on black ice but to be fair it did not even look icy. Picked it up and went home because the whole stretch or road was like an ice rink. Snow was pretty rare but yes it did cope better than most bikes. I put it down to the Avon SM back tyre - the type that look like it should be on an Austin 7.

The advert I think does celebrate the car. It's clean, it gets him about and he ignores the clots trying to take the P.

Personally a non story for me. It’s a blokey thing cars, and it’s always an added bonus you like what you’re driving, and even better if it’s a nice place to be behind the wheel, however, I don’t give a stuff what some people think about my vehicles. Take my Coupe for instance, I love it, but I also know it’s a marmite car, some just do not like the fact that’s even a Fiat. Every now and then though, some one will comment, wow nice car mate, what is it? I used to say it’s a Ferrari :D but nowadays I say it’s a Coupe, yeah, but what Coupe? Comes the reply. :D

A friend has a top spec coupe and sold it for pretty good money so some people appreciate them. He also had a Lancia Delta Integrale (cor wow wossit-do-mate). It must have been built from rusty metal. I have never seen so much rust, much of it in places where cars usually don't rust.

It's a lancia
Didn't they build them from rust and glue?
Probably would have held up a bit better if they did

He has another Delta Integrale that needs the engine rebuilding and really needs all the mechanical parts taking out and rebuilding. Not cheap for a special four-wheel-drive sports car. But the body is great. Maybe the ultra rusty one was left parked on the beach but rust is why there are so very few about these days.

rust is the same on a Fiat as any other manufacture

no manufacture is going to make there cars last indefinitely under average use otherwise the would only ever sell cars once

take a look at the original Ford KA. Open the door and look at the bottom of the b pillar. Especially on red ones for some reason

Advert still makes me ☺

There's actually two different cars in the ad; the car he goes out to and is driving for the bulk of the ad has the base model open rubber headrests and the car he's driving at the end has the higher spec cushioned headrests.

I've seen it far too often this long weekend.
