Hi, I have an issue with my 2004 Panda Active 1.2. The engine management light is flashing and occasionally the headlights flicker, when thi happens the engine judders too. The car had a new coil pack a couple of months ago. Any suggestions on how to cure this would be appreciated.

Headlights flickering..COULD be the alternator

But..
As you have other issues it is worth checking the main earth cables from battery to chassis and engine

Do scan for fault codes though..
No reason you dont have a different engine problem

How old is the pandas battery..?

If the engine starts, its unlikely to be the battery connections. Flickering everything could be a main relay or connection at the fuse box.

The battery is a couple of years old. Will check the Earth cables though. Thank you

A huge clue but if the engine starts its probably not the primary connections at the battery because the high resistance would show up when the starter demands high current. The wiring needs to be checked into the fuse box and the relays within, I'm thinking main fuse or one of the big relays.
