Hi Ken,

Sorry you're still having trouble.

That guy on eBay presents very well, all the pics are well laid out, and very clean. His Facebook page looks good also, so it all looks good.

If you've replaced the clutch and still the engagement is lumpy, I guess the hydraulics are in need of refurbishment. I seem to remember the old fluid was very black, which in brake/clutch hydraulics usually means very worn seals.

Fiat do not list the internal seals as replacement parts, so overhauling it at home is a challenge.

Give him a call and have a chat, that'll either boost your confidence in him, or disappoint. Myguess, it'll be good.

ignore this post. See post above.

Hi sorry for late reply but not been to well.
Spoke to Carl last week & found him really helpful & professional & managed to give me some ideas what to check, & no one will believe what the issue was apart from the clutch & fork knackered.
There was a bad earth on the passenger side rear light & only noticed when I got the mrs to stand behind the car as I pressed the brake pedal, no brake light but the indicator bulb lit up, managed to trace it & cleaned it up & all working now as it should & pull away is 100% better no judder & great smooth gear changes.
I actually contacted a scrap dealer to collect it next friday but cancelled him now...... all that due to a bad rear light earth.......

It really is one of the regular reasons for "Dualogic failure".
Hardest things are
A) getting people to believe it and
B) stopping them from trying something else first.

A is free, quick, easy to do.
Often B leads to real failure, lots of money changing hands, and long depressing threads on forums...

True, sad and funny at the same time. I don't like to see people waste money. But can't understand why they feel the need to order parts before check the free and easy things First.

Well Carl said a guy has a 1.2 500 same issue as mine, no gear selection & gearbox failure so took it to fiat main stealership & they diagnosed Dualogic fault so fitted new unit & fleeced him of £1500 then when he went to drive it away it was exactly the same.
He found Carl on eBay & got it recovered to him....... he replaced the reversing light bulbs & matey drove it away & has not had any problems since

This is why we always say check the rear lights earths on the Duologic. It uses the reverse light switch and bulb circuit every time you select drive. Any bad values will cause it to throw a wobbly.

The old CVT transmission used on Punto Mk1 and 2 had the same reverse light issue. That circuit is of paramount importance because it's how the gearbox controls confirm that reverse gear IS or IS NOT selected.
