Hi, as above. I think the symptoms of engine light on may be due to faulty DPF sensor but not sure where it is located. Any advice?

DPF sensors are not known for unreliability. They are usually telling the truth. You may be trying to shoot the messenger here.

If the sensor is telling you there is a problem, have a look at the problem it is suggesting.

The sensor will be on the DPF I guess. To find the DPF, follow the exhaust system, from the cylinder head. Check all offshoots, as I think the DPF takes some but not all of the exhaust. You are looking for a canister with exhaust input and output, and some electrical connections. It needs to be somewhere where it can lose a lot of heat when it is regenerating, so is likely to be somewhere visible.

You don't state what the actual problem is, only that you seem to dislike the sensor reporting something. Quite likely it needs a forced regen.

I don't have the multijet not so many people do

DPF sensors are normally on the baulk head. Two rubber pipes from front and aft of the DPF and an electrical connection. Shouldn't be difficult to trace if you get board waiting for a diesel owner to chime in.

Yep pretty much that !

I’ve heard a few horror stories of people spending £1000 on a new dpf only to later find out its a sensor, what can kill the sensor is the dpf being blocked and causing over pressure damage. A new sensor is about £15 but it won’t have anything to do with the engine warning light it will put the dpf light on if there is a fault
