I went to battery shop , he is having 50amph battery, will it fit or not in 04 1.2 panda

207x175x190 B3 fits they come in over 50A so the answer is yes

this is assuming it the same battery tray as a UK car.

I don't think you can go much bigger without modifying the plastic tray.

the width has to be 175mm and a height of 190mm is nice so the strap fits. its possible to fit a low height but would need some wood packing on the top.

Battery changed over time 1.2 went 40-44-54-60Ah

2003-2009 is 40AH to 44AH for the 1.2

2009/10/11-

12V 52AH 470A or 12V 54AH 530A

Unless it's got start stop

Then it's 12V 60AH 560A

I've got a Halfords HB063 41 AH. The size is 8w x 6.75d x 7h inches (203 x 170 x 178 mm)
I got it because the original failed and I had to get something which would fit the car from the a small local shop. It's the "wrong" one, but does the job fine. Never had any steering issues or strange behaviour other than a period of disuse during the lockdown. A quick charge and all was well.

The "correct" battery is Yuasa HSB012 Silver. £103 from Halfords or £59.35 on eBay.

I dont believe the car needs a huge battery. The 14AH battery in my 1200cc twin cylinder motorbike did the job fine for years. Two 600cc high compression pistons are far harder on the starter than even the four 350cc slugs on the 100HP. The bike battery was replaced with a 4AH LiFePO4. Yes that small. It worked perfectly.

The Panda has a big alternator that shoves out useful power at low engine revs. IMO, if you don't leave the lights on with the engine off there's no reason why a 40AH or less should not continue for a very long time.

I like to know why the battery was upped in 2009 ???

I suspect its to cut down warranty returns and it worked out cheaper for Fiat

will depend on where and how the car is used

Once every couple of weeks for short journeys in a cold climates is not the same as everyday for a couple of hours in a warm climate.

But your Bavarian Boxer doesn't have Electronic Power Steering...
Comparing apples and uhhh... raspberries?

No need for the attitude thanks ;)

My point was clear. The bike with it's sledge hammer Bavarian Boxer has a much harder to start engine but worked fine with a battery 1/3 of the one in the car. The car even worked with the 4AH LiFePO4. I tried it - no errors everything worked.

The Panda has a (near enough) 1KW generator so a huge battery is just overkill. Most likely fitted to avoid warranty calls. My crummy 40AH cheapo has never complained on the steering even stone cold with headlights heater fan and rear window going full blast.
