Hello all,
Please could someone help me with my panda high CO emissions issue.
I have failed MOT with high CO at natural idle test. It passes at fast idle.
I have changed the lambda and MAF pressure /temp sensors to no avail.
The CO Reading is very high at 8.42% when it should be 0.3% max.
Please see attached MOT emissions reading.
Any ideas?

Age of car?
Total miles?

Mil light on or off?

Where are you located?

Do you have a code reader/scan tool of any sort?

It's an 04 1.2 panda, no eng mgt light.and no fault codes
Have an obd2 scanner, which shows non fluctuating steady bank1 lambda voltage at idle, but fluctuating at fast idle.

What engine temperature is scanner reading before first start of the day and after engine at normal temperature?

Reading from ecu via scan tool what is engine coolant temp when engine has run long enough to get to normal operating temp.

Been running it on and off all day so 55° was after that only been sitting for 1hr after running a lot.

My first thought is an injector may be dripping/leaking.
Can you pull the spark plugs keeping a note of which plug is from which cylinder and post pics please?
Put each plug back in same cylinder it comes out from, best to do this when engine cold/ cool .

to be that far out I would suspect a misfire or the ECU isn't flipping over to close loop

does it idle smooth. Is the exhaust note for the back of the car even or does it have an occasional hiccup ?

First place to start is air filter condition, have you changed it? is it clean?
A dirty air filter can cause reduced air causing a rich mixture.
By all your previous posts about this car, The lack of maintenance by previous owner(s) is most likely to be the main problem, did you ever do the Forte motor flush that I suggested?
If I were you, starting at the beginning with proper servicing - engine flush, oil filter, new sump plug, new oil, air filter, spark plugs and adding a fuel system cleaner.
The basics are the answer, otherwise you will be going round in circles forever.

It definitely is not entering closed loop at idle,
The constant voltage signal from the o2 sensor is confirmation.

Off idle it can enter closed loop as o2 signal goes high and low. Plus passes emissions test at fast idle

The hydro carb count in the emission test report are not so high as to suggest a really bad misfire.

excess fuel at lidle

Interesting

Certainly on carb engines a blocked air filter can cause excess fuel to air ratio.
On fuel injection engine the air intake is measured(or calculated) and ecu calculates how much fuel to add . So a blocked air filter can reduce the air flow but the ecu is still "told" the actual air flow so does not add excess fuel.

I looked for ops other posts and couldn't find any ?

Best wishes
Jack
