Hi all

The MiL has had an 08 Panda 1.2 (169) for years but the window now only goes down a few inch before it stops and farts at her.

I have done a few searches on here and other places but not many mention these type of noises. They mention cracking, not brrrrrring and farting.

On a few searches it mentions cutting a plastic clip off. I have looked and the only thing I can see that is plastic is already broken (see pics) and can not see how cutting it will help.

I have had a good look to see if anything is jamming down the side channels and can not see anything, plus the window will go down if I give it a push. It then gets stuck about halfway and I have to push it down. It also gets stuck halfway up and again a few inches from the top. And always in the same places.

Can that one little broken bit cause all the noise?

I don't mind doing the repair. I just don't want to buy a regulator if it is the motor. Or if it is a cog etc. I want to do it properly first time.

Any insights are much appreciated.

But from the few posts on here it tends to be the plastics.. not the motor

Great thanks for your message.

I think you need a replacement window regulator assembly , I think there is a broken bowden wire in the one you have.

Get a genuine used fiat one not a pattern one if possible.

Do you have a car breakers locally? They might have what you need.
