My electric mirrors work fine so I should not complain. However I drive a lot at night (in winter anyway) so often have to dip the mirrors.

The switch location is horrible, so while locked down I'm thinking of moving it to the driver's door interior panel. I can see all sorts of issues, not least messing up the door card, but has anyone tried this mod? How did you deal with making a neat job on the door card top moulding?

I've made a switch plate with lots of careful filing to go between door latch and grab handle. But it will mean drilling the door card so get that wrong / change your mind and :cry:It's also looking really awkward to retain the switch in the bezel.

So, I've ordered a Renault mirrors switch which has just the single button in a circular bezel. At 40mm dia it's pretty large but at £8.50 I thought it's worth a punt.

Connecting cable will be some 0.5mm 7 core (overall 6mm dia) plus one. The only 8 core I can find is alarm or ribbon cable. Neither really do the job.
