1.2 consuming too much fuel

I have changed the throttle body and all injectors problem is still there, it has poor acceleration also, obd scanned , no faults regarding ignition . On deceleration ( from 2000 and above rpm) rpm goes to 1000 and rises again to 1200 then goes back to 800 ( while raving car in neutral)

I'm certainly not a guru on all things Panda, but I've read plenty on here about a failed thermostat being common.

Have you checked what temperature your engine is running at, as I'd think an open 'stat would cause it to run rich ?

Re: 1.2 consuming too much fuel

High revs at tickover suggests air leaks. What if the service/breakdown history of the car?

If it is stuck open it should remain cold, after 10 minutes of driving it goes to NOT ( Normal operating Temperature) guage stays in middle. I have recently changed its timing belt and water pump also. Can the ignition coils be culprit ?

Re: 1.2 consuming too much fuel

Miss firing coils will usually raise a fault code. But a small missfire will cause the engine to run rich. O2 sensors see the unused oxygen so ECU responds by adding more fuel.

The first test is to make sure engine reaches normal running temperature.

Hi Chali

Are you certain that the cam timing is spot on since the timing belt was changed, just incase its one tooth forward or backward.

Tim
