I have changed the throttle body and all injectors problem is still there, it has poor acceleration also, obd scanned , no faults regarding ignition . On deceleration ( from 2000 and above rpm) rpm goes to 1000 and rises again to 1200 then goes back to 800 ( while raving car in neutral)

O2 sensors are fine too, what could be reason, i have poured injector cleaner in fuel tank also . I have two pandas 1.1 and 1.2, 1.1 is new gen motor ( new head ) 1.1 drives alot better , i dont know the reason why

I'm certainly not a guru on all things Panda, but I've read plenty on here about a failed thermostat being common.

Have you checked what temperature your engine is running at, as I'd think an open 'stat would cause it to run rich ?

If it is stuck open it should remain cold, after 10 minutes of driving it goes to NOT ( Normal operating Temperature) guage stays in middle. I have recently changed its timing belt and water pump also. Can the ignition coils be culprit ?

Miss firing coils will usually raise a fault code. But a small missfire will cause the engine to run rich. O2 sensors see the unused oxygen so ECU responds by adding more fuel.

The first test is to make sure engine reaches normal running temperature.

Hi Chali

Are you certain that the cam timing is spot on since the timing belt was changed, just incase its one tooth forward or backward.

Tim

Belt timing:

The basic motor can run a few teeth out.. (but not 7..!!)
not sure about later VVT 's though

"I have recently changed its timing belt and water pump also"

"it has poor acceleration also"

I would re check everything was put back correctly before moving onwards.

poor performance is classic timing issue

Non safe engines will run fine with the cam belt/chain/gears one tooth out of step. It;s well worth checking. The RHS wheel arch liner and inner cover have to be removed to see the end of the engine. You cannot get to all screws on the smaller cover. The only way is wheel arch out of the way.

If timing is out, it should also misfire ? But it is not, fuel consumption is very bad around 10.5litres/100 km

Hi Chali

Yes its looking like a good thorough check on the cam timing would be my focus.

you shouldn't need do be buying any parts to do this so its a freebie just a bit of time.

Tim
