Can you retro fit front fogs to a 2004 Eleganza model

Re: Front fogs

Interesting, I thought front fogs were standard on Eleganza, perhaps added later, as my 2006 had them.

These are controlled by the body computer.
The central switch block needs the front fog switch, and there would need to be the CanBUS wiring. A used switch block could be available via eBay, but the wiring might be rather difficult. If not already there, it might be more than just adding wires from switch to computer.

My experience of Fiat body computers is that items can be disabled, so if removing the front fogs you can tell the computer they are disabled. (This is what I've done with mine, as they've been replaced with DRLs) So whilst a higher model computer can have bits deleted, usually these are not there to be enabled in vehicles that did not have them originally. Your body computer would have to be interrogated using MultiECUscan (MES) to see if front fogs are listed and could be enabled.

Original front fogs are expensive, as are aftermarket ones. The light output is ineffective, too low to be of value. Whatever you are trying to achieve, prepare for a big disapointment.

I tried them a few times, decided they were a waste of space. Later when one caught a rock, I replaced them with DRLs. The DRLs have got old, one has given up, so currently they're disconnected. I have some new ones to fit sometime, when the weather is warmer as bumper needs to come off to tidy the wires properly.

Re: Front fogs

How about a pair of LED long range (narrow beam) spots with DRL rings around the main lens. They will need a bracket making and wiring to a switch but they are extremely effective and the DRLs improve car visibility.

These don't have the DRL ring and the fancy bracket is redundant, but they are cheap enough to try. You can search for the dual type.
