Have previously posted regarding a misfire on Fiat Panda 58 plate...

Appear to intermittently make the problem go away by taking off and putting back on the black plugs that go onto the coil packs...

Would anyone know which one of these is for spark plug 3...(if that's the right term) as this is the one that's causing me grief...as I now suspect it is the connection on this that needs looking at... would perhaps be consistent with being worse going over bumps..

Would it be one nearer front of car or one nearer back?

Thanks in advance

the plug order is normal 1-2-3-4 from the cambelt end.

is the retaining clip part of the connector plug damaged at all? that could be the issue. you could try and cable tie it on to hold it tight in place and see if that solves your issue as a temporary fix?

The 100HP has a separate stick coil for each plug. The 1200 has two "wasted spark" coils each with 2 plug leads.

If you have spark plug leads you have the twin coil setup. One coil fires plugs 2 and 3 at the same time. The other coil fires 1 and four. A broken plug is easily tested by swapping to one of the other coil connectors. If the fault moves you have a bad plug. If the fault does not move you have a bad coil.

Thanks for that....have 4 spark plug leads... have replaced these, the coil packs and plugs....

What is the yellow connector thing next to spark plugs....could these be the issue?

I have heard of a wiring issue which can affect some Pandas.
I think it's only 1.1s, and I believe it is a weak joint in the wiring loom. However, not had the problem myself, so not sure exactly where to look.
If you've already changed could, plugs, etc. then maybe this could be the cause.
Or it could be an urban myth. Someone on here will know, though.

Once again thanks....I’m not hugely technical so apologies if some of my terms are confusing or incorrect....

I have had a good look through what appears to be numerous threads on the same issue.... with differing reasons as to why...it’s due an mot this month so ....will see how much that will be....and decide if worth having it done, taking into account it’s running like a brick...

Appreciate all your thoughts.

I now appear to have cured this issue.... well it’s been fine since Sunday... was playing around with plugs again and noticed that if I took the plugs off the ECU...(I mistakenly thought these were the coils until I looked again)... and put them back on again it ran okay for a bit... until hitting a bump....

So... of to proper job and spent £1.50 on a ten pack of long cable ties and used these to hold the plugs onto the ECU..... been running excellent since .....longest it has gone without issues since it began playing up...

All I have to do now is find where the water is coming in and causing it to steam up....lol....have emptied the drain channels under bonnet at windscreen wipers bi...

Just love fiats... never a dull moment...
