So a mate of mine has his wifes Focus diesel off the road as glow plugs broke in the head whilst trying to take them out.
I gave him a loan of a black '04 1.2 I'm selling (so road legal etc) while he gets sorted.
His daughter is 17 and will be driving soon, so I asked him what she thought of the Black Panda - thinking she would say it's cute.
She absolutely hates it, he said!
Why?!

She thinks it looks like a Hearse for Midgets. (n)

Sorry, not at all PC

My first car was also described by others as a hearse. Foxy was 17 at this stage.

These were commonly referred to as a "Breadvan", but they weren't the only or first to be dubbed that name.

Methinks the 1962 short wheel base Ferrari 250GT was the originator, though to me it looked more like a pizza oven.

The name also stuck to the Alfa 145, though the breadvan name was usually preceded by "the rusty"!

At least on the bright side no-one ever referred to it as 'the rusty'. It did have a little surface rust where the holes for the Polo badge was at the rear and another little bit at the front aerial hole. Other than that it was fine, other than being a bit pink.
