Hi all!

I'm the new owner of a 2007 1.2 dynamic. I have some 15x7 wheels lying around in the garage and would like to fit them to the Panda if possible. They are 4x100, so I'm aware I'll need wobble bolts.

They also need new tyres, as the ones they're fitted with are 205/50r15. According to the Oponeo calculator I will need 185/45r15, which according to yet another website, doesn't look like they're stretched.

I need to check the offset as I'm pretty sure it's around 40 - which according to the panda/46897-rim-sizes thread might be a problem.

Those in the know, will the offset cause an issue clearing the brakes/suspension? Or is it arch clearance? Or both?!

I've read a bit on similar forum posts (sorry no URLs as this is my first post), and I understand there'll be a performance decrease. I'm not too fussed about this as the Panda is just my commuter daily. It won't see full lock very often either - my commute is 95% motorway.

If they fit and if I run them, I'll probably want to drop the suspension a bit too. I have at least one knocking shock on the rear, so replacing at least a pair in the near future - could just as well do the lot. Would you recommend standard shocks with lowering springs, or cheap coilovers?

Hope you can shed some light for me! I'm not married to using the wheels, just want to know if I can :)

Cheers

Tom

ahh, forget about it. The offset is 41mm, which is bad enough, but the centre bore of the wheels is 56.1mm, and the cost of drilling out the centres, plus spacers, plus wobble nuts... is too much.

The 100HP has 15-45-195 tyres and with shorter bumpstops they will catch the rear inner arches on full bump. Your ally wheels are just too big.

To be fair (even ignoring the colour) they really do not suit the car. Pandas look better with the simple look.

Thanks for the info :) I thought they looked quite nice, but that's personal taste (y)

Looking at old Alfa wheels now with a 4x98 pattern and 58.1 centre bore. Most of these don't suit the car but I really fancy some nicer options than my weird champagne-coloured trims.

What would you say the width limit was for non-100hp Pandas? 6 inches? (given appropriate offset ofc)

The steel 13s are boring but they do give a good ride and dont compromise the handling too much. Alloy 14s would be better.

The 100HP has 195-45-15 but give a harsh ride on an already stiffly sprung car. They can be fitted with 195-50-15 without wrecking the ride or affecting the speedo too much.

Any bigger would need very skinny tyres spoiling the ride, raising gearing and lowering the speedo reading.

The 100HP wheels are expensive and pot holes can buckle them all too easily. I can't comment about 500 wheels but watch out for the diameters. Anything more than 195-50-15 series will be too big.

Cheers both!

Sounds like I might be happiest with some 14s, keeping the width as narrow as possible. Someone mentioned on another thread that Seicento Abarth wheels are this size and fit well, so I'll keep an eye out for a set of those

Looks like an old Vauxhall Cavalier wheel??

Anyway I'm late to this picnic but no there was no hope they would ever fit without significant expense.

However There are loads and loads of Fiat wheels out there, check out Punto 15 inch wheels, which I think would be a straight swap (y)

It could be anything - I bought them off a guy who had them on his MX5 mk2, with the intention of putting them on my mk1. However, as well as being wrapped in big tyres they are also severely heavy, so I picked up a different set of 14s for that - although that's another story. When I searched the pattern online I came to the conclusion they were either VW or some aftermarket brand called Exip (or similar, this is just off the top of my head)... but who knows :D

I wouldn't say you're late to the picnic either - I'll have a look at Punto wheels too, cheers

I have alloys off a Fiat 500S fitted on my Panda.

6.5Jx16 ET35 wheels with 195/45R16 tyres.

Fitted straight on, no rubbing or scrubbing.

I haven't technically lowered mine, although the diesel engine does tend to make the front end slightly lower than the petrol, and I've fitted 500 springs on the rear that dropped it by around 20mm.

Those wheels look awful..For god sake forget about them and fit 500 wheels

Personal taste is a strange old thing... I love 'em, and have yet to find any 500 wheels I like! If we were all the same it'd be a dull old world

At the end of the day without the correct PDC and offset and hub modifications these will not fit, not to mention you will have to get your wheel arches sorted as well...
But good luck in giving it a go...…..!

Cheers - as noted above I'm not going down that road anymore, looking for a set of 14s from the Fiat family (or older 4x98 Alfa).

Seems to be hardly any for sale (on Ebay, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, the classifieds on this forum) in the specs I need - anywhere else I should be looking?

Just becareful if looking at punto wheels they are from the older puntos, (mk1 and mk2/b) as punto grande/evo/punto2012 all had a vauxhall 4x100 stud pattern.
Ah yes - fear not, I check stud pattern, centre bore and offset before I buy anything (nowadays anyway!)

The 169 Panda is a simple design (and great for it) but it does not really suit fancy wheels. Even the 100HP wheels are quite plain. Most 500 wheel look tarty and they are usually too big.

Some 169s had 14" alloys which looked fine and with taller tyres are better on UK roads.

I'm sure all of you will be glad to hear that despite my mithering that I couldn't find any for sale, I've bought a lovely set of Punto GT wheels from a very nice Alfa fanatic in Swindon.

I mocked them up in Photoshop before going to get them, but they look even better in real life.

Can't wait to get them on - they need tyres first though. The ones they're currently wearing are completely perished. I don't think these wheels have seen road for many years!

These look a lot like my winterwheels!
Remember they have an offstet of 42,5 mm. So they will go a little bit more inwards. They clear the callipers of my 100HP by the thickness of a creditcard:D
Oh and I needed longer bolts. I run 185/60 14's on mine. Same Circumference as my 195/50 15's

Hmm, that's good info, thanks. I didn't think I'd need longer bolts - how much longer? Guess I'd better jack it up and do a test fit

Oh, and my intention is to run 185/55 14's, which I think will be the same circumference as my 165/65 13s. I don't want to go too much larger as I understand the lesser Pandas need more room in the arches than the 100hp
