DaveMcT what exactly is the "oil pressure relief valve" ? Can you please send a link for that part in order to check if it is changed?

The oil pump runs at crank speed but needs to make enough pressure to feed the bearings at tickover. As the revs rise so does the oil pressure so to prevent it getting too high there is a spring-loaded valve to bleed off the excess pressure.


Ive looked on ePER and cant see a separate valve, so it's probably integral with the pump. You have a new one of those so it should be ruled out.

The mechanic should understand what it is but ask anyway.

is it possible to fit the wrong filter purflux instead of a ufi or the other way round ????

koalar they told that they have tested 3 different type of filters, but I do t know what kind of filters.

The only way you will know for sure what's going on is to fit an oil pressure gauge that you can see while driving.

It need a T joint fitting under the oil pressure switch to mount the pressure gauge transducer.

Here's one. The analogue pointer is easier to see the trend.

can't believe this.

the car rides up on some snow so it resting with its wheels are of the ground.


After it dug out the oil light stated to flicker when hot.


the original fault would just the pickup pip or strainer

Its now been to two garages had the filter and oil changed multi times, sump dropped off twice, along with the oil pump changed.

Now has a different fault


Surly someone somewhere has either fitted some wrong, faulty or fitted the wrong part

After a huge delay I am back again with I solution. The problem was in the oil pump. We needed the original pump. When the technician put the original pump the red led of the oil stopped blinking and now everything is ok.

So there never was a problem with the old oil pump. Hmmm...

(1) Why did mechanic see fit to replace the oil pump?

(2) Why had he not fitted a pressure gauge to judge the oil pressure before doing major work?

(3) Where did he get the replacement pump from? It's clearly the wrong part for the engine.

There are many questions that must be answered, put I am happy that I have my car back again. I will not left this pass like that, I will search for everything.
