Has anyone 'chipped' their panda 100. Im looking to mainly inprove the fuel economy mainly. But theres also small power gains ?
Is it worth it and how much do they cost. I see plug in ones on ebay which just seem to mention power gains.

Cheers

I think the general consensus is that it is what it is. I get 35 around town and 45 on a run, which to me seems ok for an engine designed that long ago. Is that what you’re getting?

Havent quite worked it out. Tank aint empty yet but computer reads about 37 at mo.
Ive recently bought it. So new to them. Last runabout was a 206sw hdi. So i think coming from a 1.4 diesel its a shick to see the fuel needle move?

Generally normally aspirated engines don't respond well to "chipping" and most over the count, plug insolutions are a waste of money.

Turbo cars tend to respond better, the chips fool various sensor readings to allow more fuel it be injected and to run more boost or at least alter when the boost it available.

This alters the way the fuel is measured in relation to economy, so they tend to over read and you tend to think you're 10% better than you are.

I'm not sure if the 100hp's throttle is FBW, if it is you might be able to improve it's respond with a pedal tuning box.

There's a cheap airbox mod (search Cooperman mod) on the site somewhere that you could do and add a filter like a K&N.

Other than that, it's lots of money for little gain.

It's not the lowest cost option but an LPG liquid phase injection system will give similar mpg and power to petrol on a fuel costing around 1/2 the price of petrol. The job involves drilling the inlet manifold to fit the injectors (more work) but there are fewer parts to fit than a normal evaporator type system.

The other way to boost power is a sports exhaust manifold with underfloor catalyst but they are expensive and there is no information on how well the 100HP ECU copes with the better gas flow. You would be better off finding a crashed Abarth 500 and swapping the running gear to the Panda.

Of course, if you'd bought the Multijet, you could remap it to give you way over 100hp and bundles of low down torque!
Performance with frugality.
