Hi
I am new to the Forum
I have a Fiat Panda 2007. I have just got a set of genuine mats from Fiat but the fitting instructions are not very clear. They come with a set of lugs and it seems you puncture a hole in the existing carpet and screw these in; is this correct. I assumed there would be some sort of fitting to the floor you screwed them into.
Many thanks
Mike

I'm about to find out how Panda mats fit, as I ordered a set yesterday.

I've had mats for other cars that came with circular plastic screw-in studs. They just screw into the existing carpet.

Thanks: I have now read elsewhere in the Forum that you do indeed fix to the existing carpet using the screw in studs you describe; seems you mark with a small hole first

No lugs on mine. The fittings that came with my mats had a very coarse "self tapper" type thread thread. Just screwed them into the carpet.

Just fitted mine, exactly as described. Lay the mat in the footwell with the fitting behind it; lift the mate carefully; make a small hole in the carpet at the base of the fitting, and screw the fitting in. It takes a while (and quite a bit of finger strength) to get it started, but it gets easier. Repeat for the other fitting, and you’re done.

Note that only the drivers’ side mat has fittings; the others are loose lay in the footwells. Worth screwing the fittings in, though, as they prevent the mat shifting forwards and jamming the brake pedal . . .
