Hi there,

New to the forum and only very recently acquired a 07 reg white Panda 100HP (90k miles). Only two weeks in and I'm not off to a great start - we have two fault codes and the EOBD injector system failure light on! As well as the light, the car is revving to 3k+ when on idle, typically from cold but actually getting seemingly worse, now not settling down at all despite a few miles of driving around town.

Before having any codes read I put some injector cleaner into the tank which after a few miles did actually clear the injector system failure light on the dash. The revving issue has however continued.

A garage has then since read the fault codes on behalf of my wife (sorry don't have the numbers!) ...one refers to 'lambda sensor pre-Cat' and the other 'throttle body throttle position sensor'. Perhaps the cleaner has done enough to clean the pre-cat sensor?

I've then been looking into the matter of the throttle body position sensor but 1) it's not clear if the sensor can be purchased and installed separately from the TB and 2) it doesn't actually seem to be a common fault and I can't seem to find many who stock parts i.e. complete throttle body. Would buying a used throttle body removed by a breaker or similar be wise?

Any thoughts or suggestions very much welcome! Is the TB an easy enough part to access, remove and refit? Are there any decent online guides? Or maybe worth just spraying some cleaner on some of the connections?

Thanks in advance!

Luke

Dunno if this helps, had 2 puntos with the same issues and it took me ages to work out that it was the throttle sensor. Instead of buying new ones I replaced the whole carb from a scrap yard and it's been fine since. Before I replaced the carb I still used the car by, blocking the air intake valve and unscrewed the idle adjuster to maintain revs of around 8000rpm
