Hi,
The original gear knob on my 2008 panda sporting 1.3 diesel has broken and I need to replace it. It's a lift up reverse type.
I bought a replacement off Ebay from Sumex, classic black stitch gear knob with lift up reverse for the Fiat Panda (as quoted from the seller's site). The new knob comes with what appear to be 2 tension springs, which I assume are meant to act as sleeves, plus a grub screw to hold onto the shaft. However, whatever combination of spring is put in, the grub screw (or rather the hole through the side of the knob for it) is either too high to engage with the shaft or, if it is seated and screwed in, there is no longer any play in the lift up to actually lift up and engage reverse.
Am I missing something blindingly simple here, or does this replacement, in fact, not fit?
Thanks,
Vivien
