Hi
I've just bought a Panda 1.2 Dynamic 2007 with a fob and spare (blue) key. The fob unlocks/locks doors etc but will not start the engine. It just turns over without firing. The spare key, however, does start the engine. I've looked at the threads but there doesn't seem to be an answer for simpletons like me. Any help please?

Hi,
Either the immobiliser transponder "chip" in the fob is faulty (or missing) or the fob is no longer programmed to the car. A locksmith should be able to tell if the transponder is still working. Re-programming requires specialist software (Fiat's Examiner, Multiecuscan or Alfa OBD) and the CODE number for the car.

I've checked with a key specialist who checked both keys and they have different codes. A new 'spare' key will be about £85 and a new fob key will be £200 - £250. I think I'll just carry both keys as I have been doing!

The keys should have different codes

The car needs to programmed to accept the fob. You will probably have to take it to a main dealer though. Make sure you take all the keys.
