General Age and mileage of your Panda

146k yesterday!
I’m sure IKEA use a Panda when trying to squeeze its products into their flat packaging as they seem to fit snugly from floor to roof and door to door ...

146k:)

Ikea.
Quite possibly ..
we were @70 miles from 3 stores.. :/

So when we shopped at the nearest we MADE SURE it was all inside.. no 70 mph trip with the tailgste open ;)

We spotted that the Fiesta alongside in the car park wasnt doing so well.

Just hit a nice round figure. 70k

It's been a cracking little motor this first year. If I can get another year out of it without anything major, I'm more than happy. But it owes me nothing since I got it for £650 or so and all I've done is basic maintenance and replacing a few bits and bobs.

Keep it looked after and it will keep you happy for years to come. You "could" say there's no point spending too much on such a low cost car, but the "expense" looks more reasonable when you price up the monthly cost/value of a replacement vehicle.

Still catching! Up to 149K miles now and eyeing up 150K...

Aye, all cars need fixing every so often, so unless something major blows up, I'll just replace the parts. Like you said, they're not exactly costly and everything so far has been a simple DIY jobs (apart from when I messed up doing the brake lines and sheered a bolt, or two.

Even then the local garage towed it, fixed it and was only £100 inc labour.

I think the next thing that it'll need (even though the MOT a few months ago had zero faults) will be the suspension. (Quite rusty on the front shockers/springs and the tyre fitters said they couldn't move the part that aligns the wheels due to rust. . . . that and there is no way to get to my work that doesn't have massive speed humps, at least 8 every day) But I've priced up new shockers, springs and bushes - front and back (will only need front probably) - didn't come to much money at all.

I really should do the cam belt, as I posted about it ages ago. But I found out it's the non interference engine, so it's not a big deal even if it snaps.

Cheap as chips so far, well happy.

Sounds like I need to rack some miles up on my recently acquired 100 hp. 2010 and just clicked over 39500 today.

A broken cam belt is really not good if it happens while you are on a fast road. For what they cost to replace (on an 8V) it's far better to just get it done.

My tracking is toe out very slightly. The tyre fitters (same guys who use a torque wrench on wheel bolts) say it's ok, but the tyre inner edges are always warmer than the remaining tread and the worn-out fronts were both thin on the inner edge. So it does need adjusting.

I've tried to adjust it by one flat but the locknuts are locked solid to the track arms. It will have to come apart to be free'd off so I've bought a set of arms and rod ends. At £50 the lot it's not worth faffing about.
