General Age and mileage of your Panda

My 58 reg Panda 1.2 Dynamic reached 100,000 miles last week, is he still relatively a youngster compared to other Pandas out there?!
My punto1.2 is at 147K miles. Imo oil change is the answer. I change mine twice a year or every 6k. My last Cincuecento 899cc I bought with 23K on and she died due to serious rust at 175K. I did however need to fit a head gasket at around 100K. I use cheap halfords oil and change it regularly. Decent oil and change it early.

My 2010 Eco seems to share the common theme of low miles ( Is it because owners go deaf at 30k miles ?!:-( )I had a 2005 red MJ I ran from 89k to 170 k .One day I saw 100mpg on the clock on a one hour commute in BOTH directions ( just drove at 50mph ish on way to work down quiet country roads and took motorway home with some mild lorry drafting - not economical if a stone breaks your windscreen or evenchips bonnet so think carefully ) .My 100hp ( yes red!) I only had for around 10k miles or under a year and remember with least affection. This was hammered home when the sump was being replaced in a fiat garage and I didn’t want to give back their 1.1 Panda courtesy car ( having had WAY more fun on roundabouts ) The 1.4 engine isn’t fast enough to entertain yet returns poor mpg .The suspension hardness is a joke .Terrifying on a slightly twisting wet motorway at high speed ... etc etc

Girlfriends 1.1 is close to 200 000 miles which is about 320 000 kilometres

Got all its receipts. Its had a new heater blower. One clutch. One gearbox. But nothing on the engine.

So my 1.1 petrol is as likely to reach 170k miles as the diesel I had .Thats good news although I think I would prefer more soundproofing in next year or two as the last 18 months the decibels have grated .( I did however get tinnitus mid ownership due to a work accident ) But the wife's average family hatchback isn't FAR quieter / less 'harsh ' even if a phone decibel meter doesn't suggest as much a difference .

My 2010 MJ has about 88k on the clock, hoping to hit 100k in about April. I got her at 3 years ild and with 14k on the clock. Has only required tyres, brakes and standard servicing.
Just wish there was an answer for the tracking issues.

Try Tyre Pros. They have the best available equipment and have not ever yet failed to resolve all issues on every car I have sent in. They even jiggled the axle on my Panda and got the rear track back in line!

Dr Santa (recently promoted) Pandatonio himself TA 4x4 is 1 next week and has been nursed down to just 7K. Thats just 25000 miles of fuel use for normal Pandas!

Apparently under 9000 miles Fiat don't normally change the oil. Needless to say as the stuff is discoloured its going albeit at enormous cost.

I have a panda 4x4 2004 with 198,000 miles, original head gasket just been removed.
Also own 2006 active with 140,000 miles and both cars are rot free underneath!

Any rust bobchick?Ever had any big jobs like heating fan ?

Cheers Pandanut, will look then up, never heard of anyone being able to twerk the rear tracking and I know mine is out on the rears as well. Just put the fronts down to sh*t design, heavy engine and poor roads. Needs done every 3 - 6 months but it's just economical to see the tyres our as I do approx 25 - 30k a year. It's just a pity it's like driving on ice when it goes.
Where are they based ?

The dreaded rust is just starting on the back arch under the filler cap. The axle and spring cups are fine for now. The only issue is the boot lid micro switch, it goes a bit haywire. Last MOT, no advisories. I had a Seicento Abarth with 147,000 on the clock, I changed the head gasket, timing belt and water pump, a week later some bugger took me out from the side and wrote it off!!

They have depots in quite a few towns. I used Norwich as its local. Only had th car done once in 80000 miles. Worn strut top mounts are also a contributory factor. 30 mins a side to fit and about £40 each at worst. I used to get about 22-25K out of the fronts but with no wheel spinning! Branch locations on the net.

Blu the 2005 Active has 52k on clock. Totally reliable in 8 years.
Fugly the 2008 Cross has 82k on clock and plods on.
My latest acquisition is a 2011 Active Eco with just 29k on clock, which I bought locally a few months back. So far all's great there too.
