Both Pandas 1.1 on a 06 and 1.2 on a 05

Mines done this to a certain extent for over a year the 05 but only on first start

The 06 has suddenly started doing this and does it all the time.

Turn the key and it will

1 start normally
2 crank very slowly then stops
3 no crank but the lights dim


Keep trying and both will eventually crank, start and run normally. 06 you have to pause from turning the ignition on before cranking

Taken off and cleaned the earth strap on mine. Looked fine. It appears to be upgrade from some I have seen. The ends have been sealed with heat shrink so its much harder for moisture to enter.

Will not know if its any better till tomorrow as its already been started before today.


Must be fairly common as I have two cars doing it.

Also check the heavy lead to alternator and starter motor. If its high miles the starter motor brushes nay be worn. Replacements should be available but you'll have to check with shop4parts.
