Hi All

Just wondering how easy is it to change the gearbox oil on a 2004 Fiat Panda 1.2 Dynamic Dualogic? I've heard the filler plug is quite inaccessible because of the hydraulic actuator reservoir and components, and without removing certain bits. Can anyone tell me what I need to remove to get to the filler plug, or is it more of a job for a competent mechanic to do? I'm quite good at DIY mechanics myself, so not afraid to do some work to change the gearbox oil.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Best advice is crawl under and have a look. If you have the tools to unscrew it the job should not be too hard. It's a fill and level plug by the way. But you probably know that.

It is a bit difficult only. You need a 12 mm Allen wrench to remove the filling plug and a 8 mm to remove the bottom plug. The trick is to pass the 12 mm through the narrowest area of the Dualogic oil reservoir. By doing that carefully you are going to the fit the Allen wrench in the filling plug. I do it using the longer part of the Allen wrench to fit in the filling plug and then I use a small pipe to lever it and loose the plug. To get access to the bottom plug is better if the front left wheel is removed. Then to fill up you need a hose that matches the bore of the filling plug. This shows how to do it in a manual transmission:

Hello, sorry for jumping in your topic, but I've got a similar question.
I've got a 2006 second hand Panda with 53000 km and Dualogic transmission.
I'll be changing oil, but I'd like to know, is there any other form of maintenance needed? Where can I check actuator fluid level?

Also, I've found that needed gearbox oil is 75W-85, not 75W-80 as said in the video.

What are your opinions od Liqui Moly Mo2S additive? My transmission is a bit stupid so it always goes for first gear when I'm slowing down, and I thing synchro is not in the best possible shape so I'd like to put in some protection.

Regards
