:worship::mad:Hi there can any
one help my 55 palate 1.1eco starts ok but revs it head off:confused:

Assuming that when you inspect the throttle butterfly under the air filter housing it is closed shut.

Then its likely to be either

faulty throttle position can go faulty but rarely exceeds 3000rpm

Faulty idle control valve can cause revs in excess of 5000rpm

Both of these are in the throttle body

Both are easy to test with multiecuscan.

Idle control valve can be cycled in the actuator test
And a faulty position sensor will read an angle when its shut

If its the ICV you can try cleaning it with some carb cleaner. Only really accessible from underneath after removing

Also check the throttle cable is not sticking.

Air leaking into the inlet manifold behind the throttle will have the same effect. Has the engine been overheated?
