Then its likely to be either faulty throttle position can go faulty but rarely exceeds 3000rpm Faulty idle control valve can cause revs in excess of 5000rpm Both of these are in the throttle body Both are easy to test with multiecuscan. Idle control valve can be cycled in the actuator test And a faulty position sensor will read an angle when its shut If its the ICV you can try cleaning it with some carb cleaner. Only really accessible from underneath after removing
