hi just changed the oil and filter on my 2009 1.2 panda had hell of a job removing the oil filter had to use the screw driver in the end got 2 filter wrenches the chain type but no joy at all what type of wrench are others using an a link to one please if possible many thanks

I use a band type like this:

[ame]https://www.amazon.com/AMPRO-T70424-Oil-Filter-Wrench/dp/B00A8FNN7Y[/ame]

Advantage over a chain is it tends not to damage the filter.

Strap type is good too.

Had some oil filters that were on stupidly tight though, notably cars that were serviced at garages...

The ideal tool is a cup wrench that fits over the end of the filter. You have to get one with the same number of flutes on the filter. Used in conjunction with a ratchet wrench. A quick fix is a strip of rough sandpaper wrapped round filter, works for me.

trouble with the cup type i dont think there is enough room as the cat is tight to the filter

I used a Boa Constrictor Strap type wrench

You need to clean the filter with a solvent first as any oil will make it slip.

Not ideal but hayho it was only a pound :)

I use one of these types, not this seller i might add
eBay item number:182255787745
some are real stubborn to come off so always wear gloves

When it's been overtightened there is sometimes no option but to screwdriver it. Of possible try to chisel at the rolled edge by the sealing gasket. It's usually less messy.

I have a webbing strap wrench and a cup wrench. However, the cup will slip when the filter is too tight.
