Hello ,

I own a 1.2l 2008 robotic dualogic panda for 7 ears.
Now after a long stand , shift to neutral is problematic.

Mechanic said to wait and when the problem acutes , need to replace clutch and surroundings - about 1000 pounds.

Then i asked what to expect later on . The answer was : at some point , robotic mechanism leaks - about 2000 pounds.

So i have this thought : to convert it to manual ...
Assuming the body , motor and gear are the same , it seems not much work.

Does it makes sense to you ?

Thank you

The Panda Duologic has a normal clutch and gearbox with servo actuators. The name is confusing but DO NOT confuse the Panda Auto with the 500. The latter has a twin clutch - completely different.

When the Panda clutch fails (manual or Duologic), it becomes hard to select gears. The clutch should not be silly money but you need a mechanic who understands the Duologic and how to set it up correctly.

It sounds to me like your mechanic does not want the job hence the high prices.

Have look on You Tube for videos about the Duologic and Selespeed. Cleaning and new (correct) oil for the actuators is a place to start. Don't let it confuse you with Fiat 500 stuff.

Call these guys. https://www.shop4parts.co.uk

They were very helpful when I broke the cambelt on a Fiat Punto HGT (the one with twin cam 1750 engine).

Exactly , normal clutch and gearbox , so why not to convert it to
manual ?
Mechanic replaced the oil a year ago.

So is it to hard to convert my dualogic panda to manual ?
What it needs to do the job ?

Thank you.

Hi there Michael here(im a new member). I aree with changing the panda to automatic clutch! i am having the same problems. The clutch-dualogic accentuator robot design is expensive and badly designed. Makes sense to convert- will be more reliable plus economic in the long term. How do i go about it?

People drive Duologics like they would a "normal" automatic (creeping in traffic, hill holding, etc). This can wear the clutch very quickly which confuses the calibration and eventually overloads the clutch release servo.

The gearbox is mechanically the same as the manual box, so swapping in a manual box, control cables and shifter should be easy enough. It would also need the clutch pedal and hydraulics (or cable if LHD) . It's likely that Fiat kept the same pedal carrier frame but someone would need to check it out.
